about the venue

The Miners' is an intimate former coal miners' institute with 144 seats. It is a historial building with limited access and difficult stairs, but we are committed to making your visit as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, so please let our Box Office staff know of any special requirements in advance.

The building is situated just off Wind Street, behind the Ammanford Miners' Welfare Social Club and next to the

Church (Eglwys Sant Mihangel).

The front entrance is accessed via some steps. The box office is situated on the ground floor near the front entrance.

The theatre is located on the second floor, accessed by two flights of stairs. There is lift access to the theatre on the second floor. The lift is located at the rear of the building so please let us know if you wish to use the lift and a member of staff will assist.

The theatre seating is tiered and is accessed from the back of the auditorium. There are fairly steep steps down to the tiers and to floor level.

emergency evacuation information

In the event of an emergency evacuation, our front of house will provide instructions on how to evacuate, the nearest muster points and refuge areas.

venue facilities

If using the lift to enter the theatre, customers will enter the theatre via a door at the back of the stage. A purpose built channel has been created (separated by a curtain) to allow customers to enter and exit the space without crossing the stage.

There is an accessible toilet on the second floor, located in the backstage area (near the lift and dressing rooms). The gents' toilets are located on the ground floor near the box office and the ladies toilets are located on the first floor.

One space for a wheelchair user is available in the auditorium, at floor level in the auditorium. Please contact the Box Office for more information.

Guide dogs are welcome. Please inform the Box Office when booking your tickets and they will help you find the most suitable seat. Water bowls can be provided on request.

The theatre does not have a dedicated bar or kiosk, but a selection of wines, beers, soft drinks and confectionary are sold from the box office, which is located on the ground floor. We can bring items to customers in their seat, either pre-show or during the interval, so please just ask a member of staff and we will be happy to assist.

The Miners' is located at the centre of Ammanford and is within walking distance of pay & display car parks the nearest car park is sitated right outside the Miners' and can be accessed from Tir y Dail Lane. It has a number of accessible parking bays.
